What camera should you take to the Greek islands?
We took two in July 2026: a Hasselblad X2D for stills on land and a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, rated waterproof to 20 meters without a housing, for the water. That is what we carried, not a recommendation.
In July 2026 we carried two cameras, and they divided the work: a Hasselblad X2D for stills on land, and a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro for anything near the water or in it. The action camera went into the sea with us.
Its maker rates it waterproof to 20 meters without a housing, and that bare rating is what let it go into the water with no case and no decision made first. We did not test the rating. On the Hasselblad we used a circular polarizer — the filter that cuts glare off the surface of water and deepens a blue sky, an effect that cannot be recreated in editing.
