Is Sparti worth visiting?
We cannot answer that from what we hold, and we would rather say so than invent an answer. We have based in the Sparti valley three Julys running — 2024, 2025 and 2026, fourteen nights in total at the same hotel — and what got logged across all of it was lodging, a handful of charges and one printed receipt. Not the town. This hub publishes that record honestly and leaves the verdict to a visit where we actually take notes on the place.

Common questions
Money and dates, mostly. Three stays across three summers, the room totals for each, four card and receipt figures, and a supermarket we can prove we shopped at. It does not cover the town, and pages that would need to describe the town are not written.
Because we hold no record of going. The Byzantine city is the obvious reason to be in this valley and we would be writing it from other people’s research, which is the one thing this site does not do. It gets a page when we go with the log running.
Three times, and the bookings prove all three: six nights in July 2024, four in July 2025, four in July 2026 — the same hotel every time. This is the only place on the site we have gone back to twice. Older photographs exist in our archive that may also be from this area, but they carry no location data, so we are not claiming them until we can confirm where they were taken.
Inland in the southern Peloponnese, in a valley between two mountain ranges, roughly an hour and a half by road from the Messenian coast where Kalamata sits. We drove it and never logged the drive, so that is a description of the geography rather than a timing we can stand behind.
