We were there with a child for five nights in July 2026 and went by taxi throughout. The record holds Melissani near midday, the turtles at Argostoli, Antisamos and Myrtos. It does not rate the island for children, and neither does this page.
We were on Kefalonia with a child for five nights in July 2026, and this page reports that stay; it does not say what suits anyone else's children. The island is large and the places in our record sit far apart on winding roads, and we went by taxi throughout — Costa Costa was about an hour and a half away by that route.
Our hotel was at Svoronata, at the south end near the airport. From there the record holds a handful of places, and not the same kind of visit at each. We went into Melissani near midday, when the sun comes through the collapsed roof onto the water. We saw the turtles at Argostoli, around the fishing boats in town. We were at Antisamos on July 11 — a beach club's menu from that day is among our photographs — and at Myrtos, the beach on most photographs of the island, where we did not swim.
What we did not log is any of the things a family page usually promises: how long a child lasted anywhere, which beach was calm on which afternoon, what the shelving was like underfoot. So this page does not rate the island for children or rank its beaches for swimming. It is one stay with a child, dated.
